UT Party and Bennett's Birthday Pictures

So...unfortunately, our poor VOLS lost their first game last night in overtime....but we still had a fun party. I didn't really take any pictures, except this one. However, I got a couple of pictures of Bennett's birthday to share with you.

AF Honor Guard 60th Anniversary Celebrations!/Bennett's Birthday

Well....we have had a VERY busy weekend celebrating the Honor Guard's 60th Anniversary. Our good friends, the Shirleys, came into town on Friday afternoon. John used to be in the Honor Guard and their family came back for the festivities. We went out to dinner Friday night, which was nice. Saturday, Savannah and I got up bright and early and drove out to Fairfax for sweet Bennett's birthday party. Bennett turned one on Wednesday, and we had a big celebration for him. He is a miracle and we had to get together and party on his behalf. Unfortunately, I do not have pictures from that party, but hope to very soon. Straight from the party, we drove back out to base and had a picnic with the Honor Guard. The drill team performed and, of course, was amazing! I got some really great pictures. All of the alum were impressed with their performance, so it was fun. Savannah was so excited to watch Brent perform. She kept yelling, "Go Daddy Go!" As soon as he was finished, she ran to him and gave him big hugs.

After the picnic, the girls, minus Savannah, went to have much needed pedicures. And then...the ball....I will admit, it was much more fun than I had anticipated. We got to sit with our friends and Brent and Whit kept us laughing. The guest speaker was General Newton. He is a three star General. He did a great job! What is funny is this....General Newton brought his daughter, so one of our Captains was her date. She sat at our table. When she got there, I was shocked to find out that their family goes to our church!! Who knew these people that sit in front of us at church was a three star General's family!! So..of course we talked about it and then we went up to meet him afterwards. That was a pretty neat experience. Also, what was so cute, was during the middle of his speech, he told her to stand up. Apparently they love the Honor Guard, and he asked her what she thought of the Honor Guard. She said, "I think they are intelligent and responsible (I think that is what she said)," and then he asked her what else she knew about the Honor Guard. She said she knew the Honor Guard creed. As she started saying it, all the guys in the Honor Guard stood up and started reciting it with her. IT WAS REALLY COOL! But what I thought was awesome was that General Newton included his daughter in his speech...how sweet is that!!

So...after a good night, we came home and crashed! Today is our anniversary, and we are going to pick out an HDTV. I had gotten one to surprise Brent, but it is a bit too big, so we are going to exchange it today. Tomorrow is our first UT football game, and we're so excited. We are having a party, so look for some pictures of that in the coming days...and hopefully some of Bennett's birthday party too. Enjoy the pictures below.

Hooray Drill Team!

Kisses for daddy!

I thought I would be artistic and get Savannah smiling while watching daddy perform behind her, but she wouldn't smile. This is the best I got!

Loving on daddy!

Who's shoes are shinier!!?!

Dressed for the ball...I felt like we were going to prom!

Not quite sure what Brent is doing here...maybe showing off his Captain bling!

Ultrasound and Dr. Appointment-31 week update.

Well, today I had an ultrasound followed by a doctor's appointment. Both were pretty boring. Good news is that everything is fine and little Parker is measuring perfectly. I was even told he was "well endowed"!! "A real man" she said! Wasn't quite sure I was ready to hear that about my baby boy, but I did laugh pretty hard about it. She even gave me a picture of his little wee wee, but I decided I would keep that private. Don't want to embarrass the little fella! Unfortunately, there were no good pictures to post. I saw his little face, but we didn't get a good printout. Then on to the doctor's appointment, which was pretty useless since they had just told me he was measuring right on and we saw his heartbeat.....but I do what I am told and sat through an appointment. I conned my way out of going to any appointments next week! Hooray! But the twice a week appointments start week after next...oh boy! So....that's that...pretty boring news....but good news!

Play Date with Cole

Today we went to a park with our friends Gretchen and Cole. It was a perfect morning! Here are a few pictures from the day.

Precious little haircut!

Savannah is teaching Cole how to go down on three..one, two, three!

She is also telling him how great it is to swing way up high!

Savannah is very ready to be a big girl. She really likes "trying" to swing on the big kids' swings. She is slowly getting the hang of it. Can't say she is learning the "don't walk in front of a swinging child" rule just yet. We've had our share of crashes, but we're getting there.

Savannah's New Haircut

Well...I finally got brave and cut Savannah's hair. These are not very good pictures, but they are what I got of her today. Maybe I will get some more cute ones to add later. She LOVES it and shakes her head from side to side. I think she is pretty cute and looks so grown up....especially in her high heels that you will see in one of the pictures!

Long time...no post!

I am pretty sure this is the longest I have gone without posting something....I really do have a life outside of blogging world! hehe...

Since my last post, I am pleased to announce we have had no more milk incidences.

Brent's team performed at the World War II Memorial in July. I was so excited, but when I got there, I discovered my camera was out of battery...of course. Luckily, our good friend Sarah had her camera and got some good shots. Here are a few from that day. It was amazing!

Next comes our long vacation down south. Brent went to Omaha and we went to TN. Savannah and I were showered with love the entire time we were there, of course, but our sweet friends also showered us with a beautiful shower for Parker the first weekend we were there. He got so many cute things and I was so surprised to get a shower for a second baby. Each one of the hostesses prayed over each of our family of four (Brent, me, Savannah, and Parker), it was precious. Here are a few pictures from the day.

The next fun thing we did was what my mom called, "Baby Day." A bunch of our friends in Knoxville who have young children were invited over to my mom's house for a pool party. It was so fun to see all the little ones playing with each other. Here are some pictures from that day.

The next day Savannah and I set out on a short trip to Nashville, Murfreesboro, Tullahoma, and Chattanooga all in two days. It was a long trip. However, we got to see some great friends and Matt along the way. We met Tanya and Jazmyn in Nashville for lunch, spent the night with Matt, met the new baby Boggess, and finished off visiting Will in Chattanooga. We didn't have our camera out too much, but here are a couple of pictures from that little trip. The baby is Miss Katelyn!

The rest of the week consisted of much needed relaxation. During the weekend, my dad and Janet came in town and we went downtown and spent some time with my Mamaw. On Sunday, I was able to see most of the Bailey family, which was really good since we hadn't seen them since Christmas.

It was a great trip, but I am happy to say NO MORE TRIP UNTIL CHRISTMAS! I can unpack my toiletries. The only trip I will be making is to the hospital to have Mr. Parker!

The day after we got back to DC, I had a doctor's appointment. I am 30+ weeks now, and everything is looking great and he is measuring right on. We have an ultrasound next Friday, so I hope to have some good pictures from that.

Brent leaves AGAIN tomorrow for San Antonio for a week and when he gets back it will be labor day weekend, which will be very busy. Our good friends, the Shirleys, are coming in for the Honor Guards 60th Anniversary celebrations...including a ball in which I must wear an elegant gown at 32 weeks pregnant! Yes...how lovely I will be. We are looking forward to some fun times that weekend including our first UT football game!!!!

Thanks for sticking with me to the end of the post. Happy Blogging!!
