CONGRATULATIONS CAPTAIN "MONEY"!!!!!

I am soooooooooo excited to announce that Brent won an awesome award last night! I had told you guys he won the CGO (company grade officer) of the year award for his group...Well, last night he won CGO of the Year for the entire base!!!!!!!!! That means he is THE BEST out of every 1st LT, 2nd LT, and Captain that works on the base!!!!!! We will go to an awards dinner on May 1st, where we will find out if he will make CGO of the Year for the Air Force District of Washington, which means all the CGO's in the AF in DC!!!!!!! He is super excited with his accomplishment, as am I! We are also very proud of his Sr. NCO Master SGT. West, who was the Sr. NCO (Non Commissioned Officer) of the Year.

Here is what was posted today on the base website about Brent:

Capt. Brent A. Mundie
11th Wing CGO of the Year

Captain Mundie is the drill team flight commander for the United States Air Force Honor Guard. He commanded the 11th Wing's most visible flight, showcasing the Air Force for audiences of senior leaders and Airmen during 113 missions that entailed 165 temporary duty days. He was the officer and charge and commander of troops for 123 funerals, drills and DoD and Air Force-level events. Captain Mundie was also the drill team leader for three separate Air Force Weeks in Philadelphia, Penn.; Omaha, Neb.; and Los Angeles, Calif. He completed 15 hours towards his master's degree at Webster University.

He got some pretty great gifts including the cool award he is holding in the picture and he even gets his big picture posted in the BX (base exchange) for the next year! LOL..

If you get a chance, email him and tell him congrats! He would love it!

Our little four month old!

Parker turned four months yesterday, and is as adorable as ever! He is "talking" a lot is is getting really interested in toys and his surroundings. He is a joy to be around and we can't get enough of him. He is SOOO close to rolling from his back to his belly and he actually rolled from his belly to his back last Thursday for the first time, so that was exciting. Here are a few pictures of our big four month old!

Paker eats cereal for his first time.

Last Friday, we tried some cereal for the first time. He ate it like a pro. However, the next day, he wasn't quite as excited, so we haven't tried it again. Here is a picture of his first "meal."

Happy Birthday Savannah

Well...I am finally getting around to putting Savannah's birthday pictures online. We had a very fun day. Luckily she didn't get sick until the next day. We can't believe our little girl is turning three!!! Enjoy.

The "cake". We let the kids decorate their own cookies in lieu of a cake.

Savannah and her party treats

The spread

We had the kids decorate their goody bags.

Then they decorated treasure boxes and teddy bears.

Savannah got lots of good stuff, unfortunately most of the pictures didn't turn out because of the lighting. Here is what we got.

Savannah was surprised with her big girl bike!

She was so excited!

Then, here are the kids decorating their cookies!

Later that night, we had a second party for Savannah with her adult friends. She got to blow the candles out at this one, which she loved.

Catching up on blogs.....

Well, poor little Savannah has been sick with a stomach bug, so life has been pretty busy around here. I haven't had time to sit down and work on the pictures from her party yet, but I will hopefully get around to that today or tomorrow. Parker and I are supposed to go to Florida on Thursday, so I am praying none of the rest of us get this nasty bug.

The stats for this week's weight loss are:

Laura: I have lost five pounds in five weeks...so right on schedule and I still need to lose 12 more.
Brent: He has lost four pounds...so...he is catching up!

We are still super excited about the move to Florida in about four-five months and have been looking at houses online like pretty much nonstop....aside from "nursing" our sick child and sanitizing everything in her path.

Hopefully I will get around to party pictures soon! For now...I need a nap.....I'm exhausted!

Patrick AFB, here we come!!!!

Well...Brent got a call at 9:30 tonight from his commander letting us know that we are moving to Patrick Air Force Base (Cocoa Beach, FL) in July!!! Patrick was our number one choice!! Brent is going to be the Nuclear Weapons Launch Detection Satellite Control Officer...whew...try and say that three times! Basically, from what I gather, he will be in the office that controls satellites that would detect if someone else was launching a nuclear weapon on the United States! Pretty cool stuff....a little nerve racking too! We are shocked....and thrilled...and overwhelmed...

We have spent the last hour looking at houses because we can afford to buy a great house there!!! We are so excited to have a real house...that is our own!!!

I am way too tired to be on here writing, but I wanted to share in our excitement!!

We had two birthday parties for Savannah today....so...look for some posts with that and her new gymnastics class later tomorrow!

I will end by saying...God is good! We are so blessed....our first choice....we can't believe it!

Valentines!

Brent's parents came into town this weekend, which allowed Brent and I to have a very special Valentines dinner. Brent surprised me with six red roses for the six years we have been married on Valentines day. He also surprised his mom and Savannah with a single red rose....SO SWEET. Then Brent and I got all dressed up and went to dinner at the Capital Grille. If you want to eat the best steak in your life, and have a small fortune, I would recommend a visit to this place! It was awesome. We were pretty blown away at their wine menu too. We do not drink, so we know nothing about wine. Their menu had like maybe 20 dinner items on the front, but when you opened the menu, there were about 400 different wines!! They even had a supplemental book with more wines in it, including a $5000, yes $5000 bottle of wine! We asked how often someone bought a bottle this expensive, and they guy said, "All of the time!" WOW...Anyways, it was a perfect dinner. We even got valeted. I felt like a VIP!

After dinner, we drove over to U street and ate some yummy dessert at the Love Cafe. They serve my favorite cake love slices, so I was in heaven!

We finished our night with a leisurely stroll around....Target! We were waiting on Brent's dad to get in from Atlanta, so we took the opportunity to walk around Target with no babies.

It was a very fun night! Thanks Brent...and thanks Jenny for taking care of the kids!

Here are a couple of pictures from their trip!

13 pounds in 13 weeks!

Well...I am still on my way to losing 17 pounds in 17 weeks. I have lost four pounds so far, so I am feeling good. I was a little shocked I even lost any weight because I had cheated with some desserts this week, since, of course, it was Valentines! I am really hoping to lose a few more pounds before I go to the beach NEXT Thursday, because I am looking pretty flabby in a bathing suit! YIKES! I found a magazine that has some clear cut running schedules for people who do not run and want to start. I think that I may try it! It will be hard for me, because I don't love to run, but I am willing to try. I think I will start it in a month, after I have some more time to get in shape. It is for running alone, not with a double stroller, so I am going to need to gain some more muscle before I think I can tackle that!

I am currently beating Brent because he has only lost two pounds! WAHOO!

14 pounds in 14 weeks!

Well.....I guess I am happy to report I lost one more pound this week. I was hoping to lose a few, but when I eat cake, I guess I can't complain! I am still on track and will be exercising a lot more this week because it is so pretty outside and I can walk/run with the kids in our new jogging stroller. Brent didn't lose any weight this week, unfortunately, but he also has a plan to be working out three days a week, starting this week...so..he'll probably pass me! I am STILL working on cutting sweets...it is so hard...so this week, I will keep on that and cut down on my carb intake a little. That is my goal...we'll see!! We did walk for a while today and then I cleaned out the garage, so I have been active...good start, I suppose.

GO DRILL TEAM!!

So, for those of you who have ever wondered what Brent does, here is a 25 minute video about military drill teams. His team is specifically featured between 1:20-9:30 minutes of the video. If you watch, you will see Brent be interviewed a couple of times. I am very proud of him! And, even though he doesn't want me to brag, you should know he was selected the #1 CGO (company grade officer) in his entire group!! That is a big deal! Enjoy the video!

15 Pounds in 15 weeks!

Well....unfortunately, I didn't lose any weight this week. I was supposed to drop sweets, and I did a pretty bad job at it. So, this week I am going to work harder! Brent and I both, however, have lost two pounds, which is exactly on target for our pound a week goal. We are going to have to get more strict with our diets and exercise if we want to make it! Luckily, we got a jogging stroller on Saturday so we can get out and walk/run on warm days....if we ever have any.

How's everyone else doing?

The Christmas post may never happen....lol
